Description

This splendid property on the Riviera was built in 1931 by Hungarian architect Alexander Ferenczy on behalf of English owners.
It was then renovated by a Bauhaus art enthusiast in the 1980s and remains a unique property in this region.

Nestled on a plot of just over 5,000 sqm with mature trees, facing the lake, the imposing building offers a floor area of around 750 sqm on four levels.

Designed and furnished as a place to live, exhibit, entertain and work, in keeping with the Bauhaus concept, the villa features straight lines and large windows offering incredible light and a rather incredible lifestyle.

The upper ground floor is almost entirely open plan with an impressive double-height ceiling. In contrast, the upper floor comprises six bedrooms and three bathrooms.

The private roof terrace offers breathtaking views of the lake and the Alps.

This unusual property, listed as a historic monument, will delight a clientele of connoisseurs.

Construction

Bauhaus. This artistic movement born at the beginning of the last century is considered by many to be revolutionary. Originating from a school of architecture, the Staatliches Bauhaus, founded in 1919 in Weimar, it mainly concerns architecture and design, although it had an impact on other art forms such as photography.
Quickly stopped by the Third Reich, it is only in the 70's that this artistic movement will reappear in the open, mainly in Germany. Still intended for a public of connoisseurs, the Bauhaus leaves behind some buildings as unusual as they are extraordinary.
